I unfortunatley live in an area where I have to have CCTV on my home, but if I mount the cameras on the outside they will be attacked by vandals. So if I buy cameras with night vision LEDs and mount them inside the windows where they are safe, will the night vision aspect still work?

Whenever I am home alone, I am terrified of coming inside and going in different rooms because I fear there is an intruder inside waiting. Nothing has ever happened, but it’s just I have seen alot of true stories on television about it, I try to tell myself that it won’t happen to me, I don’t have any enemies, but I still cannot get over my fear. Any ideas to overcome this?

I would like to have an alarm system installed in my house using an independent contractor so I can buy a better system for cheap and then negotiate my monitoring contract with a company. My electrician says he doesn’t do it. Is this unheard of in the industry? What kind of contractor would do this kind of installation?

I have a Sony time lapse VCR, three JVC CCTV cameras that I want to install on my house. I have an idea what kind of cable I need for connecting the cameras, but I don’t know if I will be needing an additional device to connect the cameras to. I have heard of a four channel quad processor, but I,m not sure. Please anybody help me clear the smoke.

I’ve read in books that beagles make bad guard dogs because they’re friendly toward strangers. BUT I also read that burglars might think that they’re a larger dog if they only hear their bark. Do you believe this?

Beagles have a call so unlike other dogs. And Bassetts sound deeper than a big dog in my opinion.

Thoughts: Somehow, mount razor blades around the inside rim in such a way the dogs would not get hurt …or maybe an awning of razor wire over the inside approach. But where would I get it? Any other ideas?

The idea of CCTV sounds promising enough to think about it deeper. I imagine, that if I walk down the streets of London, being continuously filmed, I can be tracked down from somebody human behind the camera when I leave the angle of the one camera, walking into the next.

Yet I believe that if a computer could do this task, it would be a lot more efficient (efficiency is never bad, only goals can be bad).

Does anyone know, if this software exists? And what resolution would one need?

I feel strongly that cameras are needed as some teachers as well as pupils can behave very badly and get away with it as they believe that they are untouchable. My son has been bullied by both staff and pupils, but the school won’t do anything about it, regardless of the fact that he has many witnesses. There are a couple of cameras, none in the classrooms, and even though an incident occured in a corridor where there was CCTV, the school refused to even check the camera for evidence! The Education Department are very unhelpful, what else can i do?

If a burglar came across a very large solid safe bolted to the floor and wall. Would he: attempt to break it, leave the house alone, continue looking elsewhere in the house or just trash the house out of spite!
Has anyone had experience of this?
