How can you disable a camera or CCTV or disrupts or block its signal - will a magnet work?

cctv

i want to know if it possible to access, disable, tamper disrupt or block a signal from a CCTV style camera or wireless camera that is linked to a PC via a LAN network. i want to know how i can detect if there is a hidden camera placed somewhere linked a toilet or kitchen or anywhere? Also, can a magnet be used to disrupt the signal in anyway, if so how? Thanks

If it’s a really big heavy magnet and you whack the camera with it, I bet that would cause some damage. I won’t ask what you’re going to be doing that you don’t want anyone to see.

Well Well, the question is Interesting and yet suspicious.

The best and easiest is to switch off the electricity. The Magnet has to be very powerful to distort the images.

A strong magnet can distord the image ON A CATHODE RAY TUBE (the old fashion tube that uses electro-magnets to focalise the electron beam: try it on your TV (NOT flat screens).
Webcams or similar do not use electron beams: they are semi-conductor chips, one sensor per pixel. No amount of magnetic field will disturb them, sorry!
You would have to distord the LIGHT beam… with a gravity field.
And that can only be done using a very high MASS (Check Einstein, Penrose and Hawkins equations about black holes…)
    :-)))
Another way: arm yourself with a can of black paint and spray the walls before having your “job”.
