These can be fitted up out of reach, and barely get a second glance by passers by. It is illegal to put up a camera like this though without putting clear notification stickers up to warn people that they are being filmed. Hope that helps. This will provide the best view of someone at the door, as placing it left or right of the door will only give you a profile shot. Your second option is a pinhole camera that you will install in the door itself. The only issue with this is it will have to be self contained :wireless with a bettery. these are availale but frightfully expensive.
