regardless of what the law states there are exceptions to every rule, im thinking the judge will side with you.
the dog did exactly what it was supposed to do!

it all depends on the intruders lawyer!!!! theres been cases were a guy breaks in to an old ladys house, and slips on water and hurts himself, and he sues the old lady and wins!!!!

Where I live…YES, I can be charged!! Crazy hey? But as long as you have a Beware of Dog sign on the outside of your house somewhere you can’t be charged.

In Texas you can do pretty much anything to an intruder and not be charged. Nevada I’m not sure though… But I would assume that as long as the intruder was IN your house when the dog attacked things would be fine. Of course they would probably investigate to see how vicious/ aggressive your dog is on a daily basis to determine whether the dog needed to be euthanized. You know if he/she is a menace or threat to the community. But if the dog is rendered tame after observations then everything should be good. No consequences for you or the dog.

In the traditional sense of a dog then that is their purpose. So eventhough law states its illegal for you to train your animal to attack anyone, and most states have laws that call for the animal to be put down after they have attacked a human. I think you would be ok, and not have to worry about the dog being put down seeing as how intruders are likely to be after the people and not the valuables.

O, ya a dog can bite someones knee caps off because your knee cap is a circular bone that is attached to the leg by tendons at each end, and not actualy part of the leg and shin bone.

Not sure about laws in Nevada, but I think you’re putting your dog in danger. How would you know if the intruder doesn’t have a gun and shoots your dog and you? I think dogs are great deterrent but teach them not to bite. You really don’t know what can happen once your dog bites someone even though this someone is breaking in your property. Don’t forget you live in the society where anyone can file a lawsuit against you. Use your dog to alert you instead.

Regardless of which state you live in you probably will not be charged with a crime by the police if you have a sign posted, beware of dog. You also have a right to protect yourself and home. Now for the fun part, the intruder can take you to civil court and sue you for the dog bite even though he broke in to your home. It is your homeowners insurance that will cover the suit and then they will raise you rates claiming you have an aggressive dog or they can cancel your policy using the same reason. If they cancel your policy, chances are you will have a hard time getting another policy. How’s that for messed up laws?
